Acceptable use policy

Effective 1 October 2026

Mark is free for everyone because it is used fairly. This policy is part of the terms of use and applies to the studio and every image URL on mark.sylphx.com.

Embed freely

Use Mark images in READMEs, docs, issues, profiles, websites and presentations, for personal or commercial projects, with no account or token.

Do not

• Render content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use names, logos or badges to impersonate a person or organisation, to phish, or to suggest an endorsement, certification or status that does not exist.
• Send automated traffic beyond normal embedding and viewing: load testing, bulk generation, scraping, or using Mark as a proxy for GitHub, npm or other upstream APIs.
• Try to bypass caching, rate limits or abuse controls, probe for vulnerabilities, or disrupt the Service.
• Present Mark images as your own hosted service or resell access to the Service.

What we may do

We may block or rate-limit any URL, IP address, referrer or network, purge cached images, and replace an image with a neutral placeholder, at our discretion and without notice.
